PADEL PULSE LEAGUE Season 2
More than just a league
What started as an idea to create a different kind of amateur padel experience in Johannesburg took another significant step forward with the conclusion of Padel Pulse League Season 2.
Season 2 brought together 32 players across 16 teams at Qurtuba Padel & Fitness, with weeks of competition culminating in a Finals Day that captured exactly what Padel Pulse is trying to build: competitive padel, community, personality and an experience that extends beyond the court.
From the opening matches to the final Sunday, the league produced close contests, rivalries, upsets and plenty of conversation in the WhatsApp groups. More importantly, players who began the season as opponents increasingly became part of the same community.
A Finals Day Worthy of the Season
Season 2 concluded on Sunday, 20 September 2026 at Qurtuba Padel & Fitness in Johannesburg, with both the Gold Cup and Plate Cup on the line.
The day was designed to feel different from an ordinary league fixture. Players, families, sponsors and supporters gathered at the venue as the final matches played out, followed by sponsor activations and prize-giving.
For Padel Pulse, Finals Day was not simply about crowning champions. It was about giving amateur players the kind of sporting experience usually associated with much larger competitions. Photography, video, branded kits, sponsor involvement, prizes and the atmosphere around the courts all formed part of the occasion.
It also demonstrated how commercial partners can help grow amateur sport when sponsorship becomes part of the experience rather than simply a logo placed on a poster.
Building a Padel Culture
Padel’s rapid growth in South Africa has created no shortage of opportunities to play. Padel Pulse’s ambition is slightly different.
Co-founders Muzaffar Rajah and Rameez Abrahams believe there is an opportunity to build a recognisable amateur sporting property around the game – one where players do not simply arrive, play for 90 minutes and leave.
The league combines structured competition with team identities, content, player personalities, commercial partners and community. That philosophy is captured in three words: Play. Connect. Compete.
Season 2 reinforced that belief.
Season 3 Gets Bigger
There will not be much time to rest. Season 3 begins on 4 October 2026 and represents Padel Pulse’s biggest season yet.
The league expands from 32 to 48 players, with dedicated Beginner and Intermediate divisions. The nine-week season will again be played at Qurtuba Padel & Fitness and concludes on 6 December 2026.
The expansion also brings a larger commercial and content programme, new partnerships and a more structured player experience.
For Padel Pulse, however, growth is not simply about adding more players. The challenge is preserving the culture that made the first two seasons work while steadily raising the standard of what an amateur league can offer.
