48 Hours of Padel: South Africans Make Guinness World Record History

Four South African padel players have made history, completing a gruelling 48-hour padel marathon at 10by20 Padel Club in Johannesburg from 21 to 23 August 2026.

Lara Joy Anderson, Warren Kuhn, Farhaan “Fudgie” Sayanvala and Gregory Gogoski took on the ultimate test of endurance, pushing their physical and mental limits in a bid to break the Guinness World Record for the longest continuous padel match.

The Record-Breakers

Among the quartet was Lara Joy Anderson, who made sporting history as the first woman to take on and complete the longest padel marathon.

Together with Kuhn, Sayanvala and Gogoski, Anderson helped put South African padel firmly on the global stage with an extraordinary display of endurance, determination and teamwork.

48 Hours. One Court. One Goal.

The challenge began at 4pm on Friday, 21 August, with the players remaining on court until 4pm on Sunday, 23 August.

While the challenge was billed as a 48-hour marathon, the official net playing time was recorded at 44 hours and 18 minutes – comfortably surpassing the previous record of 41 hours.

But this was about more than simply breaking a record.

The 48 Hours of Padel initiative was held as a special tribute to the late Mo Abba, while also raising awareness and funds for the South African Depression and Anxiety Group (SADAG).

After 48 hours of sweat, exhaustion, determination and countless rallies, the four players emerged as Guinness World Record holders – creating a remarkable moment for South African padel and proving just how far the sport can push its players.

Forty-eight hours. Four players. One incredible piece of padel history.
