Pretoria welcomed some of padel’s biggest international talents. Portugal’s Sofia Araújo, the “Lioness of Lisbon”, arrived as the world No. 8 and a three-time Premier Padel champion, while Spain’s Marta Ortega, former World No. 1 and the “Doctor of Padel”, brought three titles and plenty of experience. Spain’s Jorge “Coki” Nieto, a two-time Premier Padel champion, is renowned for his tactical game and was part of the duo that famously ended Coello and Tapia’s 47-match winning streak. Argentina’s Maxi Arce, meanwhile, is one of the tour’s rising stars, having climbed to No. 1 on the A1 circuit before making his mark on Premier Padel.
