At just 14 years old, Imaan “Imi” Valli is already making waves on South Africa’s padel circuit. Having picked up her first racket at 12, the young star quickly discovered a passion for the sport — and hasn’t looked back.
Now coached by Keagan Roy of KCC Club, Imi is building a reputation for her lightning-fast movement, intense playing style and trademark Vibora, while competing alongside her cousin and trusted doubles partner.
Her journey has already included a tournament win at Old Eds, and she has her sights set firmly on the future: reaching A1 level, travelling the world to compete and, one day, potentially representing South Africa.
But behind the ambition is a teenager who simply loves playing padel, spending time with family and friends, and improving one point at a time.
Who inspires this rising star? What does she love about padel? And could we be looking at one of South Africa’s future champions?
