Jamila Cassim – Bridging the Gap for Women in Padel Enter the Platinum Ladies League Edition

Enter the Platinum Ladies League Edition

After falling in love with padel almost instantly, Jamila Cassim saw more than just a sport – she saw an opportunity to create something meaningful for women.

Recognising a gap in the league landscape, Jamila helped bring the Platinum League Ladies Edition to life: a platform designed to give women of all playing levels greater visibility, opportunity, competition and community.

From its first event, featuring 12 women across six franchises, to navigating the challenges of sponsorships, logistics and building something entirely new, the journey has been about far more than winning matches. It’s about creating a space where beginners and seasoned players alike can feel valued, challenged and part of something bigger.

And Jamila’s ambitions don’t stop there. With plans for national growth, stronger sponsorships, inter-provincial competition and eventually women’s tournaments across Africa, her vision is firmly focused on putting women at the heart of padel’s future.

What inspired Jamila to bridge the gap? What does the future hold for the Platinum Ladies League?
